Trieven-Sungold Training Program: We understand how demanding developing a gundog can be and aim to have a training program that fits everybody’s needs. Whether it’s our one-on-one training program or our three month gundog program we can find something that works for you.

Headstart Puppy: The goal of our headstart program is to provide the best foundation we can for your future gundog. In addition to our general puppy program we can customize our training to match your specific needs. Your pup will be introduced to the home, kids, crate trained, taught basic manners and puppy obedience. Pup will also be introduced to birds of various types from pheasant and chukar to quail and goose wings. They will be played with, taken for walks through different terrain, and be introduced to water (in season). They will be taught to play retrieve, and to love to retrieve dummies and birds. They will be introduced to fetch, gunfire, and start to hunt. They will have the foundation when they leave to go into their new home and start serious training.

Gundog Program: During our three month program your dog will be taught obedience, whistle trained, quartering (hunting), force fetch, whoa trained (pointing dogs) and exposed to lots of birds. They will be collar conditioned in a gentle manner, keeping them happy while learning control at a distance. They will be exposed to heavy cover, cattails, fences, and any other obstacle they might encounter hunting. Waterfowl dogs will be taught about decoys, how to handle different water and heavy cover, and how to handle swimming in current and the river. They will be given marks in the water, and taught basic handling, along with the basics above.
Tune-Up / Conditioning / Needed Training: This program is for experienced dogs who have been hunted. They will be given birds, will be brushed up and conditioned for hunting. If you have a problem that needs fixing, such as force fetch (retrieve to hand) or whoa training, that will be worked on. Instead of being totally wild, your dog will be ready to do some serious hunting.

One-on-One Training: With our one-on-one training you will have access to our complete training facility. You and our trainer will be working with eachother and the dog. Together we will determine the best training plan for your dog. We can customize this training to fit your specific needs. Wether it’s obedience work, field work or water retrieves we can fit your needs. This program can be either a one day or weekend program.
 

Gundog Evaluation: This is a short program set up to determine if your inexperienced dog, or problem dog, has the natural ability and desire to be a good gundog, and is a prelude to the above two training programs.
Our training program is designed for hunters, whether they be upland, waterfowl, or both. It is set up to develop a true working hunting dog, which will work with his/her owner to make hunting an enjoyable experience.
 

Trieven-Sungold Game Bird Club: Excellent hunting from Nov. 11 through March 31 on over 5000 acres. Pheasant and chukar. Waterfowl hunting and goose hunting also. We will offer driven shoots (no walking) and tower shoots (no walking). These type hunts are for 4 or more people. Give us a call!
